![]() ![]() Once I email and send photos they have always got a new coaster out to me and it’s given the mug a new lease of life. And the reason I have is that the customer service has been exceptional. Now you’re probably reading this and wondering why I gave 4 stars. Especially as they clearly don’t do well around liquid, given the fact it’s a mug to carry hot liquid it seems rather silly. Surely there is now wireless technology that would work rather than having a pinned coaster. I have had about thee coasters now and always the same issue + It’s just happened again. They seem to break easily, one ends up staying depressed and then the coaster won’t charge the mug. It has two pins, and these just aren’t very fit for purpose. What doesn’t work well is the charging coaster. I love this mug, I’ve had it for 3 years and it’s always worked amazingly. I can get the mug to connect, but it always disconnects when trying to update. I even tried the official troubleshooting steps provided by ember support by resetting everything first and rebooting my phone. I have followed every option I've found that had worked for others except for the brute force method over the course of weeks/months. ![]() Oh, and forget trying to install an update to the firmware. I'm thinking of having my daughter return the mug and getting a NextMug instead (which doesn't have an app, but is less expensive and provides 3 or 5 preset temperatures and also has a lid that helps it keep it hot longer). Sure, I can set my temperature and then just ignore the app, but the whole point of getting the ember is the precise control the app supposedly gives you. Like so many others, I have found that it continually disconnects. ![]() The mug itself is fine, but using the companion app is a lesson in frustration to say the least. ![]()
